Deja Who terms and community rules

Effective October 27, 2026

Keep it kind. How to report something, and what we do about it.

Agreement

These rules are an agreement between you and Lyravant LLC (“we”) for Deja Who on iPhone, in iMessage and on the web. By playing, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. Lyravant's general terms (warranty, liability, governing law) also apply where these rules don't say otherwise.

Who can play

You must be 13 or older. Groups are private: only people with a group's invite link can join, so share it only with people you know.

Community rules

Deja Who is about friends knowing each other, kindly. In names, answers, fake answers, questions you write, photos and live games:

  • Be kind. No bullying, harassment, threats, hate or mocking anyone's looks, body, health, money, religion, background or identity.
  • No sexual content and nothing involving minors in a sexual way, ever.
  • No people in photos. Photo questions ask for things, not faces. Don't post photos of anyone, or anything private, illegal, violent or explicit.
  • Respect privacy. Don't share other people's private information (addresses, phone numbers, secrets that aren't yours to tell), and don't share someone's answers outside the group in a way that would hurt them.
  • No spam, links or ads, and no impersonating someone else.
  • Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, scrape or get around its limits, filters or security.

The app filters some words and topics automatically, but the filter can't catch everything. You're responsible for what you post.

Reporting

  • Answers and photos in a group: tap Report on it. When two members report the same answer it's hidden for everyone; a photo reported twice is hidden and deleted.
  • Live games: report a photo, a written line or the prompt itself. Two reports, or the host's, hide it; a reported prompt skips the round and is kept for our review.
  • A person: the group's admin can remove any member, and the host of a live game can remove a player, who can't come back to that game. Anyone can leave a group at any time.
  • Anything else, or anything serious: email support@lyravant.com with the group or room code and what happened. We read every report and act on it promptly.

Removal

We may remove content, groups or rooms, and block a device or ID from the service, if they break these rules or the law, or to keep players safe. Where it's appropriate and safe, we'll tell the group what was removed. If you think we got it wrong, write to us.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people in your group or room, and to show the reveal card (the question, the person's name and how many knew) to anyone who has a reveal link someone shared, only to run the game. We don't use your content for advertising and we don't sell it. Deleting your data removes it; see the privacy policy for how long things are kept.

AI rounds

When a live game's host turns on the AI host, some rounds are written by an AI. They're checked by filters, but they can still be odd or wrong; report any round that isn't kind, and it's skipped. Don't share facts about yourself you wouldn't want the room or the AI to see.

Free, as is

Deja Who is free. We provide it as is and may change, pause or end features. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for what players post or for losses from using the game; the limits in Lyravant's terms apply.

Changes

If these rules change, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
